Another conversion from Tankut. He has converted Assault on Black Reach Space Marine Dreadnought to a Chaos Space Marine Dreadnought.

The model has a multimelta arm and a dreadnought close combat arm. He has named the model as Amurael the Corrupt after Word Bearers Sorcerer Amurael.

Brothers of The Snake

This weekend I started and finished Dan Abnett's Warhammer 40K novel; "Brothers of the Snake". I am reading Gaunt Ghosts series nowadays and it was a nice change for me.

The novel turns around Priad; a Space Marine and tell us about his undertakings in a series of short stories like his first mission as a initiate, how he became squad-sergeant, etc. (I do not want to give too much spoiler.)

You can also find rituals of a Chapter and daily life of a Space Marine, how they are seen by mortal people, how time works for both. I would recommend this book for all Warhammer 40K players, especially Space Marine players as they will be deploying their army in quiet a different mood next time.

How many tanks is too much ?

Well I do not know the answer.

I have just received my Imperial Guard Codex and studying it. My main concern is how can I fit all my Leman Russ main battle tanks to the list.

For 1500 pts I have a skeleton idea;

- Company Command Squad - Vox, Laser Cannon : 75 pts

- Troop 1 - Infantry Platoon : 210 pts
Platoon Command Squad
3 x Infantry Squad (3 x Heavy Bolters)

- Troop 2 - Infantry Platoon : 210 pts
Platoon Command Squad
3 x Infantry Squad (3 x Heavy Bolters)

- Heavy Support 1 : 340 pts
2 x Leman Russ Exterminator ( 2 x Heavy Bolter Sponson)

- Heavy Support 2 : 300 pts
2 x Leman Russ

- Heavy Support 3 : 300 pts
2 x Leman Russ

Which makes up 1435 pts. I will try to sequeze the list a bit and get at least one commisar for each combined platoon and give smoke launcher to Leman Russes.

Imperial Guard Leman Russ Demolisher

Another new release from Games Workshop is the new all plastic Imperial Guard Leman Russ Demolisher. This box also covers 2 of the new Leman Russ variants in Codex; Punisher and Executioner. You can build one (and only one) Leman Russ variant selecting from Demolisher/Punisher/Executioner. You can use the excess sprues to convert your normal Leman Russ variants...

Currently I have 6 Leman Russes 5 normal pattern and 1 Exterminator pattern. I want to field them in 3 squadrons I will convert one of the normal patterns to Vanquisher or Exterminator to run it with the current Exterminator. I will use the other 4 as is.

I really want to give a try to the Punisher variant at least proxy it a couple of games. But the high point cost does not raise too much good feelings about Punisher. 20 S5 BS3 shots with no AP for this price is abit high, you can buy 5 scout sentinels and still have left over points which will give you 15 S6 BS3 shots with AP6 and a better range.

Games Workshop also released the photos of the new sprues where we see the side sponsons have a new design which will give us easier interchangable weapons.

Imperial Guard Hellhound

Games Workshop released the new all plastic Imperial Guard Hellhound. You can build one of the 3 versions; Hellhound/Banewolf/Devildog.As I already have 3 of the old Hellhounds I will not be buying any. (At least until I see Banewolf or Devildog can really kill someting valuable....)

Meanwhile Hellhound is my favourite tank at Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War Dark Crusade -the video game- It can level all enemy bases if you can send in enough numbers. Last weekend I played 3 games in a row only producing 2 basic infantry units to capture resources and spend all my resources for hellhounds.

Turn Signals on A Land Raider, the best webcomic about Warhammer is ending. Stephen A. Campbell's anouncement;

As many of you know I am ending the production of Turn Signals because I cannot sell collected printed comics and make real money due to Games Workshop’s intellectual property policy and them not being interested in making any kind of mutually adventageous deal with the TSOALR Empire. My advertisers had paid for their space through July and today is the last day of July. Unfortunately, this also works out to be comic number 666 and I just couldn’t leave it that way. So, there will be one more on Monday, just to avoid the last TSOALR comic being the evilest comic ever.

It took only 2 days for the delivery of my Tomb Spyder from UK to Turkey... I opened the package and saw it was the particle projectile version although I have requested the two clawed version from Maelstrom Games. Now I will have to build a claw from scratch.

Tomb Spyder

Yesterday I ordered my first Necron Tomb Spyder. During the games I played last month I have seen its necesity to get them as they increase Necron models durability dramatically.

Tomb Spyders are large monstrous creatures which hover over the battlefield. Their main mission is to maintain Tomb Worlds. In battle they give WBB roll support to Necron units and also they can kill vehicles. Their high toughness gives them additional protection to small arms fire.

New Armies

As a standart wargamer I start new armies, buy new models, build some and start another army before painting the ones I own... :-))

Now I have started the following armies in 1:72;

- Napoleonic French
- Warhammer Ancient Battles Armies of Antiquity - Alexander and His Successors
- Warhammer Ancient Battles Armies of Chivalry - Hundred Years War French

1:72 models can be hidden easily from wife's eyes... :-)

Nightbringer successes...

I had 2 games last saturday. One of them was against Blood Angels where I made so many army rule-mistakes. Thanks God Blood Angels won the game phasing me out otherwise I would regret winning the game by doing mistakes. Nightbringer has shown success taking out 2 units of BAs and charging a Terminator unit -the game finished before I could kill termies- It seems if I do not play against weapons with special wounding rule I can reach enemy...

The second game was against Chaos Space Marines where Nightbringer cut down a full unit of nurgle marines then get charged by another unit. This unit to my surprise killed Nightbringer. As Nightbringer's necrodermis was breached it blew away all but one -the sergeant- marines from the squad. :-)

Nightbringer is nice if it reaches enemy at least you can expect to make some good surprises.

Meanwhile I have recognized I have not played my Black Templars for the last 6 months.

Monolith Rocks and Nightbringer Does not do so well

My nightbringer died in the first turn in 2 games against my friend's Codex Space Marine army. He just landed sternguards which rapid fired Nightbringer and killed him.... He had a special character which helped him reroll failed hits.

On the other hand Monolith performed great... He just conquered the place it stands...

It has taken out the same warrior squad out of combat for 3 times and helped them reroll failed "We will be back rolls". Monolith is good but I need to add tomb spyders for this WBB rolls.

I have received my first Monolith today. I have bought it from ebay second hand. It is painted in Gold as my army color is mithril silver-burnished gold it does not look odd. But the paint has flaw on some corners and look bad. I guess I will repaint it when I find time from buying and building models.....

I have converted about 10 flayed ones from plastic warrior models and bought an additional 8 metal flayed ones.

I have 7 metal pariahs which seems to be excess, as they can not fit any of my army lists.

I have 4 destroyers and looking for more.

I have 3 Necron Lords one with Resurrection Orb and one with Destroyer body. I have built the destroyer body with magnets and I can interchange it in to a Necron Destroyer if I need.

I have about 80 warriors only 50 built. I will convert about 10 into Necron Immortals.

I have 12 scarab bases any of which I have not fielded yet.

Models and camouflage ?

When building models everybody can drop the parts down. The tiny parts as if they have camouflage easily get invisible on the carpet. If you are a model builder you have lost so many important and tiny parts to the carpet cleaning machine.

What to do to avoid this is;
- Build models in a room where we have no carpet or a light color carpet
- Lay a cloth under the table
- Search for your lost parts with your hands on floor before starting any kind of carpet cleaning machine.

Well just lost 2 of my bolter hands for assault squad and adding this entry to my blog....

I am starting a Black Templar Space Marine Army

At last I have chosen a chapter; Black Templars. Especially to have both scouts and space marines in the same troop choice have attracted me I can have bolters + shotguns or a 20 men close combat troop.

Meanwhile I have collected some transport and heavy support;
- 1 Land Raider (to be converted to Land Raider Crusader)
- 1 Predator Anhilator
- 4 Land Speeder Tornados
- 1 Rhino

Please leave your advices for Black Templars as comments. I especially need advices on use of Assault Squads and Land Speeders.

How to built both Empire Warmachines from the same box?

Whn you open the Empire Warmachine box you find two sprues which make either a cannon or a mortar and 3 crewmen. Finding extra crewmen is easy using free company box but what about building both warmachines ?

I have strated very simple I built the great cannon as instructed after than I examined the parts unused. What we have ? The mortar piece, the short support leg and some accessories.

From there on using sprues and evergreen sheets I have built the mortar. Will give instrution and photos at my site.

An HO Scale Town

I have been budy with my Warhammer armies and only dream about my HO Scale layout. I want to have a small town with a good station and a passenger station, there will be a container terminal and a small military base.

In town I want to have a supermarket (Migros), a auto dealer & auto rental, a gas station, a modern multi floor building as a technology company (web design, web hosting, hardware & software services), a small factory and a big farm near town as industry.

I want to have a 5-6 multi floor houses behind town to represent residential area and some villa style houses in front of them.

After so many buildings there will be no place for the railroad tracks :-))). Anyway back to my armies....

Empire vs Wood Elves

Well in our local Warhammer club there are a couple of Wood Elf players. As Wood Elves are a hit-run-make opponent crazy army I can not find a good way to beat them.

Last weekend I had a new try but again failed this time more of dices. I brought an Hellblaster Volley gun and a mortar, had a crossbowmen unit to outshot the glade warriors. For hand to hand combat I had a Knights unit with Captain(g), a swordsmen unit with a fire wizard, a spearmen unit with heavens wizard and handgunner&halberdier detachments.

Well anyway I lost the game, hope this week I can do better, anyone has suggestions for Empire army against Wood Elves ? ("Do not play" suggestions do not count.)

Warhammer Fantasy Empire

There are some new about Games Workshop is releasing a new set of models for Empire army. (and also changing some rules which I have not been learned completely....) Good news is Hellblaster will be shooting more than 24" (I have 2 Hellblasters) and there will be a nebelwerfer (rocket launcher). Also there is a rumour the Master Engineer will be having a sort of one time rocket and War Priests' spells are changing with better ones.

Having a new war machine, and increase in hellblaster's effective range are the best news for me. (Empire army is a shooty army) Also I always thought Master Engineer and War Priest were useless now we can employ them in armies.

On the other hand pistoliers became ineffective as they will not be able to shoot and charge.

Anyway these were th rumours I have heard about, we will see the results in a few months I guess....

Hi all,

I have started a blog as my "What's New" section on my homepage is getting more and more crowded everyday.

My site Unimog's Agora is a hobby share site. I have been collecting diecast vehicles over 20 years (mostly Matchbox, Majorette), have interest in HO Model Railroading and now building (or trying to build) a layout, own Games Workshop Warhammer Armies (Fantasy - Empire, 40K - Space Marines, Mordheim - Reikslander, Panzer Battles - US Army) and also building scale models. So much hobbies for one is a bit much ? On the other hand all this models are about scale modelling...

Now I will be adding photos to my site.
